📄Delay of Privacy Act Implementation for NIH Police Records

On January 16, 2025, the Department of Health and Human Services published a final rule to make effective the exemptions that were previously proposed for a new Privacy Act system of records, "NIH Police Records," maintained by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), from certain requirements of the Act. That final rule was originally scheduled to take effect on February 18, 2025. Subsequently, the effective date was delayed until March 21, 2025, in response to the memorandum titled "Regulatory Freeze Pending Review," issued by the President on January 20, 2025. This notice further delays the effective date until May 5, 2025.

🏦EXIM Bank Implements New Personnel Security Record System

Pursuant to the Privacy Act of 1974, the Export-Import Bank of the United States ("EXIM", "EXIM Bank", or "The Bank") proposes a new system of records notice ("SORN"). The new system of records described in this notice, EXIM PERSEC IQ, will enable EXIM's Security Office staff to store and manage EXIM personnel security information, manage the integrated workflow processes and activities, manage caseloads, and reporting capabilities relative to personnel security investigations. Records in the system are used to document and support decisions regarding the suitability, eligibility, and fitness of applicants for Federal and contract employment to include students, interns, or volunteers to the extent that their duties require access to Federal facilities, information, systems, or applications. Additionally, records may be used to document security violations and supervisory actions taken. 🔒NRC Updates on Systems of Records Under Privacy Act 1974

Pursuant to the Privacy Act of 1974 and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circular No. A-108, to ensure the system of records notices remain accurate, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff reviews each notice on a periodic basis. As a result of this review, the NRC is republishing 13 of its system of records notices with minor corrective, clarifying, and administrative changes. These minor modifications include updating authorities, system managers, retention schedules, and various other minor updates, as well as edits that are intended to improve clarity of the notices but that are not intended to modify the systems themselves. None of the modifications the NRC is making meet the threshold criteria established by OMB for either a new or altered system of records.
