For drugs granted accelerated approval, sponsors conduct confirmatory studies that must be completed postapproval to verify and describe the anticipated effect on irreversible morbidity or mortality or other clinical benefit. This draft guidance describes FDA's interpretation of the term "underway" and discusses policies for implementing this requirement, including factors FDA intends to consider when determining whether a confirmatory trial is underway prior to accelerated approval.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA or Agency) is announcing the availability of a final guidance for industry entitled "Interim Policy on Compounding Using Bulk Drug Substances Under Section 503A of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act." This guidance describes FDA's interim policy concerning compounding by human drug product compounders that are not outsourcing facilities using bulk drug substances while FDA develops the list of bulk drug substances that can be used in compounding under the applicable section of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act). This guidance finalizes the draft guidance of the same title issued in December 2023 and replaces the final guidance of the same title issued in January 2017.

Unless the Department of Commerce ("Commerce") extends the time for initiation, the Commission must reach a preliminary determination in antidumping and countervailing duty investigations in 45 days, or in this case by February 14, 2025. The Commission's views must be transmitted to Commerce within five business days thereafter, or by February 24, 2025.
