🚛FMCSA Renews HOS Exemption for McKee Foods Transportation, LLC

FMCSA announces its final decision to renew the exemption granted to McKee Foods Transportation, LLC (MFT), USDOT #1025678, from the hours-of-service (HOS) regulations pertaining to the use of a sleeper berth. The exemption renewal allows MFT team drivers to take the equivalent of 10 consecutive hours off duty by splitting sleeper berth time into two periods totaling 10 hours, provided neither of the two periods is less than two hours. FMCSA has analyzed the exemption application and the public comments and has determined that the exemption, subject to the terms and conditions set forth below, is likely to achieve a level of safety that is equivalent to or greater than the level that would be achieved absent such exemption.

A Federal Register Notice with a 60-day comment period soliciting comments on this information collection was published on September 3, 2024. 🚧Federal Actions on Transportation Projects in Washington State

This notice announces actions taken by the FHWA that are final. The action relates to the SR 510 Yelm Loop--New Alignment Phase 2 Project, located in the City of Yelm, Thurston County. The Project will construct approximately three miles of new highway composed of one travel lane in each direction, starting at Cullens Road (at the terminus of Phase 1) and ending at the intersection of SR 507 and 170th Street. The highway will be classified limited access between Cullens Road and 103rd Avenue, and managed access between 103rd Avenue and SR 507. The FHWA's National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) provides details on the Selected Alternative for the proposed improvements.

🎣2025 Management Measures for Pacific Halibut Fishery Regulations

NMFS is proposing annual management measures for the 2025 non- Tribal directed commercial Pacific halibut fishery that operates south of Point Chehalis, WA, (lat. 46[deg]53.30' N) in the International Pacific Halibut Commission's (IPHC) regulatory Area 2A off Washington, Oregon, and California. Annual management measures include fishing periods and fishing period limits. NMFS is also proposing to modify permit deadlines for all Area 2A non-Tribal commercial fisheries and modify inseason action announcement procedures for the Area 2A non- Tribal directed commercial fishery. These actions are intended to conserve Pacific halibut and provide fishing opportunity where available.
