🚗NHTSA Safety Research Portfolio Public Meeting and ADS Workshop
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) will hold a public meeting on October 21-22, 2025, jointly organized by the NHTSA's Vehicle Safety Research and Behavioral Safety Research offices. The event will provide updates and insights into ongoing activities across NHTSA's research programs. The meeting will be held in-person and will feature panel presentations by representatives from both research offices. Each panel will conclude with an opportunity for the audience to ask technical questions related to the presented materials. Visual slides used in presentations will be made available in the public docket following the public meeting. The event will not be live streamed; however, panel presentations will be recorded and made available on the NHTSA website after the event. At the conclusion of the research presentations on October 22, 2025, the Agency will also host a special workshop on selected topics of interest related to Automated Driving Systems (ADS). The ADS workshop will not be livestreamed or recorded.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), in consultation with the U.S. Department of State, is normalizing Hungary's Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) travel authorization validity period, and changing the eligibility for citizens or nationals of Hungary traveling under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP) to the United States. This announcement reverses the 2023 DHS determination to reduce the ESTA travel authorization validity period for travel by citizens or nationals of Hungary from two years to one year, and to limit the validity of an ESTA for citizens or nationals of Hungary to a single use for ESTA applications. DHS is making these changes because Hungary has addressed the vulnerabilities that led to earlier ESTA restrictions.

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for all Airbus SAS Model A300 B4-600, B4-600R, and F4-600R series airplanes; and Model A300 C4-605R Variant F airplanes (collectively called Model A300-600 series airplanes). This AD was prompted by a determination that new or more restrictive airworthiness limitations are necessary. This AD requires revising the existing maintenance or inspection program, as applicable, to incorporate new or more restrictive airworthiness limitations. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
