⚓Proposed Updates to Duluth's Safety Zones by Coast Guard

The Coast Guard is proposing to revise existing regulations for recurring safety zones in the Captain of the Port Duluth Zone. The proposed amendments would update the table of annually recurring marine events, add definitions, and clarify how and when the COTP may enforce listed zones. These changes are intended to improve the timeliness and clarity of public notification, enhance mariner situational awareness, and promote the safety of life on the navigable waters of the western Great Lakes during recurring near-shore events. The FAA proposes to adopt a new airworthiness directive (AD) for all Bombardier, Inc., Model BD-700-2A12 airplanes. This proposed AD was prompted by a determination that new or more restrictive airworthiness limitations are necessary. This proposed AD would require revising the existing maintenance or inspection program, as applicable, to incorporate new or more restrictive airworthiness limitations. The FAA is proposing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
