📄Name Change for Child Support Services and Comment Period Reopen

HHS is reopening the public comment period and delaying the effective date for the purpose of reviewing any questions of fact, law, and policy that the rule may raise.

On January 16, 2025, the Department of Health and Human Services published a final rule to make effective the exemptions that were previously proposed for a new Privacy Act system of records, "NIH Police Records," maintained by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), from certain requirements of the Act. That final rule was originally scheduled to take effect on February 18, 2025. This document announces that the effective date is delayed until March 21, 2025, in response to the memorandum titled "Regulatory Freeze Pending Review," issued by the President on January 20, 2025.

🏥FDA Issues Guidance on Reducing Disease Transmission Risks

The final guidances entitled "Recommendations To Reduce the Risk of Transmission of Disease Agents Associated with Sepsis by Human Cells, Tissues, and Cellular and Tissue-Based Products (HCT/Ps)" and "Recommendations To Reduce the Risk of Transmission of Mycobacterium Tuberculosis (Mtb) by Human Cells, Tissues, and Cellular and Tissue- Based Products (HCT/Ps)" are being revised to change the time by which FDA recommends implementation of the recommendations in the guidances.
