⚛️NRC Proposes License Amendment for Urenco USA's Operations

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is considering an amendment of Special Nuclear Materials (SNM) License No. SNM-2010, issued to Louisiana Energy Services, LLC, dba Urenco USA (UUSA), for the operation of the Urenco USA uranium enrichment facility in Eunice, New Mexico. The amendment would remove license condition (LC) 14 from the license. Removal of the license condition (the NRC's proposed action) would allow UUSA to ship depleted uranium hexafluoride (DUF<INF>6</INF>) to a certain type of deconversion facility. For this proposed action, the NRC staff is issuing an environmental assessment (EA) and finding of no significant impact (FONSI).
