The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST or Institute) and the National Technical Information Service (NTIS) invites and requests nomination of individuals for appointment to ten existing Federal Advisory Committees (Committees): Advisory Committee on Earthquake Hazards Reduction; Board of Overseers of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award; Industrial Advisory Committee; Information Security and Privacy Advisory Board; Judges Panel of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award; Manufacturing Extension Partnership Advisory Board; National Artificial Intelligence Advisory Committee; National Construction Safety Team Advisory Committee; National Technical Information Service Advisory Board; and Visiting Committee on Advanced Technology. NIST and NTIS will consider nominations received in response to this notice for appointment to the Committees, in addition to nominations already received. Registered Federal lobbyists may not serve on NIST or NTIS Federal Advisory Committees in an individual capacity.

⚙️FDA Modifies Recognized Standards for Medical Devices

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA or Agency) is announcing a publication containing modifications the Agency is making to the list of standards FDA recognizes for use in premarket reviews (FDA Recognized Consensus Standards). This publication, entitled "Modifications to the List of Recognized Standards, Recognition List Number: 063" (Recognition List Number: 063), will assist manufacturers who elect to declare conformity with consensus standards to meet certain requirements for medical devices.

⚡New Standards for Business Practices in Public Utilities

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission amends its regulations to incorporate by reference, with certain exceptions, the latest version (Version 004) of the Standards for Business Practices and Communication Protocols for Public Utilities adopted by the Wholesale Electric Quadrant (WEQ) of the North American Energy Standards Board (NAESB). The revisions made by NAESB in the WEQ Version 004 standards are designed to aid public utilities with the consistent and uniform implementation of requirements promulgated by the Commission as part of the pro forma Open Access Transmission Tariff (OATT).

💧Delay in Energy Conservation Standards for Gas-Fired Water Heaters

This document delays the effective date of a recently published final rule amending the energy conservation standards for gas-fired instantaneous water heaters. DOE also seeks comment on any further delay of the effective date, including the impacts of such delay, as well as comment on the legal, factual, or policy issues raised by the rule.

🍗USDA Seeks Comments on Poultry Standards Revisions by 2025

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is seeking public comment on revisions to the United States Classes, Standards, and Grades for Poultry (the Poultry Standards). The last minor revision to the Poultry Standards occurred in 2018, but the last substantial revision prior to that occurred in 1998. Since then, poultry production and quality assessment methods have changed significantly, as have consumer preferences.
