Pursuant to the Federal Advisory Committee Act and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act of 2004 (IDEA), the Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) requests nominations of individuals to serve on the Advisory Board for Exceptional Children (Advisory Board). There will be four positions available to serve specifically in the areas of: Indian persons with disabilities; Service providers to children with disabilities; State education officials; or State Interagency Coordinating Councils under section 641 of the Act in States having Indian reservations. Advisory Board members shall serve a staggered term of two years or three years from the date of their appointment. The BIE will consider nominations received in response to this request for nominations, as well as other sources. On December 16, 2024, the Department of Education (Department) published in the Federal Register a notice inviting applications (NIA) for fiscal year (FY) 2025 for the Special Education Parent Information Centers--Parent Training and Information Centers (PTIs) competition. The NIA established a deadline date of March 3, 2025, for the transmittal of applications. The Department is correcting the NIA by removing certain application requirements and replacing the selection criteria. This notice also reopens the competition and extends the deadline date for transmittal of applications until March 26, 2025, and extends the deadline for intergovernmental review until May 25, 2025. All other information in the NIA remains the same.
