In accordance with the Privacy Act of 1974, the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB) proposes to rescind a government-wide system of records titled "MSPB/GOVT--1, Appeals and Case Records." This system of records includes information that MSPB collects, maintains, and uses to perform MSPB's statutory functions. MSPB is separately and simultaneously proposing a new system of records titled "MSPB--1, Appeals and Case Records" that will cover this information.

In compliance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, Public Law 104-13, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics invites the general public, industry and other governmental parties to comment on the continuing need for and usefulness of BTS requiring certificated air carriers to preserve accounting records, consumer complaint letters, reservation reports and records, system reports of aircraft movements, etc. Also, public charter operators and overseas military personnel charter operators are required to retain certain contracts, invoices, receipts, bank records and reservation records.

Information Access Programs Records, State-35, which is being rescinded, captures information that helps the Department in the administration of its statutory responsibility for processing requests for access; amendments; appeals; special projects for Congress, the Government Accountability Office, and the Department of Justice in support of court orders and subpoenas; discovery, litigation support, and litigation pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, the Privacy Act of 1974, Executive Order 13526 or a successor order on national security information, and Touhy regulations; and stores them in a secure repository that allows for search, retrieval, and view when necessary. Additionally, the Department of State, by separate Federal Register notice, will also be rescinding the Final Rule associated with State- 35.

SFMIOS combines the features of the: Computerized Homes Underwriting Management System (CHUMS)/Loan Application Management System (LAMS), Federal Housing Administration (FHA) and Connection (FHAC). The purpose of these modifications is to update the system of records authority for maintenance of the system and categories of records.
