The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator signed an order dated December 16, 2024 granting in part and denying in part a petition dated July 19, 2024 from the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Mothers Out Front, Sierra Club, Falls of the James Group, and Virginia Interfaith Power & Light. The petition requested that the EPA object to a Clean Air Act (CAA) title V operating permit issued by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (VADEQ) to AdvanSix Resins and Chemicals LLC, Hopewell Plant, located in the City of Hopewell, Prince George County, Virginia.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator signed an Order dated December 19, 2024, denying a petition dated June 11, 2024, from Air Alliance Houston (the Petitioner). The petition requested that the EPA object to a Clean Air Act (CAA) title V operating permit issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to Shell Chemical LP, for its Deer Park Chemical Plant located in Harris County, Texas. In addition, and as a part of the Order, the EPA Administrator found that cause exists to reopen the Shell Chemical Deer Park Chemical Plant permit pursuant to 40 CFR part 70.7.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to approve revisions to the State Implementation Plan (SIP) and Operating Permits Program and the 112(l)plan submitted by the State of Kansas on February 20, 2023. The revised Kansas rules update the Class I emission fee and emissions inventory regulations, establish a Class II fee schedule and ensure that Kansas's Operating Permits Program is adequately funded. Approval of these revisions ensures consistency between the State and federally-approved rules and does not impact air quality.
