The FAA is considering a proposal to change 4.044 acres of airport land from aeronautical use to non-aeronautical use and to authorize the sale of airport property located at Greene County/Lewis A. Jackson Regional Airport. The aforementioned land is not needed for aeronautical use. The future use of the property is for a municipal fire station. The land is located in the southwest part of the airport adjacent to N. Valley Road. There are no impacts to the airport by allowing the Greene County Regional Airport Authority to dispose of the property.

🏗️Notice of Release of Land from Federal Grant Obligations at TUS

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) proposes to rule and invites public comment for the release of approximately 8 acres of airport land, at Tucson International Airport (TUS), Tucson, Pima County, Arizona from the aeronautical use provisions of the Grant Agreement Assurances since the land is not needed for airport purposes. The land for proposed release consists of one parcel and two partial parcels located south of East Valencia Road, east of South Park Avenue, and located in the northwest section of the TUS airport. The land will be sold to the Arizona Air National Guard, to accommodate the future reconfiguration of their entry control facility. The airport will be compensated for the fair market value of the land. The use of the land for an entry control facility represents a compatible land use that will not interfere with the airport or its operation, thereby protecting the interests of civil aviation.

🌲USDA Proposes Revision of Forest Land Management Plans in Oregon & Washington

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Forest Service is revising the land management plans for the Malheur, Umatilla, and Wallowa-Whitman National Forests (together known as the Blue Mountains National Forests) and preparing an environmental impact statement (EIS) consistent with the agency's National Forest System Land Management Planning regulations (36 CFR 219) and USDA National Environmental Policy Act regulations (7 CFR 1b.7). This notice announces the Forest Service's intent to prepare an EIS and initiate public involvement on the proposed action and request comments on the Preliminary Need to Change, Preliminary Draft Proposed Land Management Plan, the Evaluation of Wilderness Characteristics of Lands included in the inventory, and the list of Preliminary Species of Conservation Concern. This notice describes the documents available for review and how to obtain them; summarizes the need for change to the existing land management plans; provides information concerning public participation and collaboration, including the process for submitting comments; provides an estimated schedule for the planning process, including the time available to submit comments; and explains how to obtain additional information. ✈️FAA Approves Noise Compatibility Program for Laredo Airport

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announces its findings on the Noise Compatibility Program (NCP) Update submitted by the Laredo International Airport (LRD) for the Laredo International Airport (the Airport or LRD). On August 25, 2022, the FAA determined that Noise Exposure Maps (NEMs) submitted by the Airport were in compliance with applicable requirements. The NCP Update was submitted to the FAA for review on March 14, 2025. After completing initial reviews, the FAA accepted the Noise Compatibility Program and initiated the review process on April 3, 2025. On July 28, 2025, the FAA approved the Laredo International Airport NCP Update. The NCP contains four land use measures and four administrative measures for which the Airport seeks approval under 14 CFR part 150. The FAA approved the eight measures.
