✈️New FAA Airworthiness Directive for Airbus SAS Aircraft
The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for all Airbus SAS Model A319-111, -112, -113, -114, -115, -131, -132, and -133 airplanes; Model A320 series airplanes; Model A321-211, -212, -213, - 231, -232, -251N, -251NX, -252N, -252NX, -253N, -253NX, -253NY, -271N, -271NX, -272N, and -272NX airplanes; Airbus SAS Model A330-200 series airplanes; Model A330-300 series airplanes; Model A330-800 series airplanes; Model A330-900 series airplanes; Model A350-941 and -1041 airplanes; and Model A380-800 series airplanes. This AD was prompted by a report of corrosion and cracks on the broadband antenna adapter plate during an inspection. This AD requires repetitive general visual inspections of the broadband antenna adapter plate, skirt, vents, and attachment fittings, and applicable corrective actions, and limits the installation of affected parts under certain conditions. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.

This proposed AD would require a one-time special detailed inspection (SDI) of the rivet holes and applicable corrective actions; and would also allow the installation of certain modifications, provided rivets are installed after the modification; as specified in a European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) AD, which is proposed for incorporation by reference (IBR). The FAA is proposing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.

This notice announces that U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is renewing the Facial Comparison for Advance Passenger Information System (APIS) Compliance Test. Commercial air and sea carriers that voluntarily participate in this test use CBP's Traveler Verification Service (TVS) to comply with APIS regulatory requirements. During this test, participating carriers will use the existing TVS to ensure the manifest information sent to CBP is correct and to perform the required identity verification pursuant to APIS regulations. This process has the potential to expedite the departure process as compared to the manual data and identity verification process.
