✈️FAA Proposes Airworthiness Directive for Airbus Canada BD-500 Aircraft

The FAA proposes to adopt a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Airbus Canada Limited Partnership Model BD-500-1A10 and BD- 500-1A11 airplanes. This proposed AD was prompted by the discovery on the production line that the electrical system harnesses in lavatory A had reduced bend radii, were not properly secured, and did not meet the requirement for clearance from an oxygen supply line. This proposed AD would require an inspection of the sleeve and electrical harness for chafing damage and incorrect installation, and applicable on-condition actions. The FAA is proposing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.

✈️FAA Issues Special Conditions for Boeing 757-200 Series Airplanes

These special conditions are issued for The Boeing Company (Boeing) Model 757-200 series airplane. This airplane, as modified by H4 Aerospace (UK) Ltd (H4 Aerospace), will have a novel or unusual design feature when compared to the state of technology envisioned in the airworthiness standards. This design feature is associated with seats that include non-traditional, large, non-metallic panels. The applicable airworthiness regulations do not contain adequate or appropriate safety standards for this design feature. These special conditions contain the additional safety standards that the Administrator considers necessary to establish a level of safety equivalent to that established by the existing airworthiness standards.

🚀FAA Invites Comments on Launch and Reentry Collision Avoidance Guidance

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is solicitating public comment on its intentions to revise an existing Advisory Circular (AC) that provides guidance to launch and reentry vehicle operators on how to complete launch and reentry collision avoidance analyses for the purpose of vehicle operator license applications. Specifically, the proposed revisions would clarify that, for certain commercial launch and reentry operations supporting National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) missions, collision avoidance (COLA) analyses may be obtained from two NASA components. The current version of the AC only identifies the 19th Space Defense Squadron (SDS) as an FAA-approved COLA provider.

🚀FAA Announces Final Environmental Assessment for SpaceX Launches

The FAA is announcing the availability of the Final Environmental Assessment and Mitigated Finding of No Significant Impact/Record of Decision for SpaceX Falcon 9 Operations at Space Launch Complex-40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Florida (Final EA). The Final Environmental Assessment analyzes: Up to 120 Falcon 9 launches annually at SLC-40, which represents an annual increase of 70 launches from the 50 previously analyzed in a July 2020 EA; construction and operation of a landing zone at SLC-40; and up to 34 first-stage booster landings at the new landing zone annually. The Final EA also evaluates the potential environmental impacts associated with FAA's approval of related airspace closures. The FAA has posted the Final Environmental Assessment and Mitigated Finding of No Significant Impact/Record of Decision on the FAA Office of Commercial Space Transportation website: https://www.faa.gov/space/ stakeholder_engagement/SpaceX_Falcon_SLC_40_EA. ✈️Proposed Airworthiness Directive for DAHER Aerospace Airplanes

The FAA proposes to supersede Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2007-06-11, which applies to certain SOCATA (type certificate now held by DAHER AEROSPACE) Model TBM 700 airplanes. AD 2007-06-11 requires repetitively inspecting the vertical stabilizer attachment fittings and bolts for cracks or corrosion, and, if necessary, repairing or replacing the damaged part and then applying a corrosion protection reinforcement. Since the FAA issued AD 2007-06-11, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), which is the Technical Agent for the Member States of the European Union, superseded the previous Direction generale de l'aviation civile (DGAC) France AD to introduce new service information providing instructions for installing new vertical stabilizer attachment fittings having improved corrosion resistant material as an optional terminating action for the repetitive inspections. This proposed AD would retain the requirements of AD 2007- 06-11 and include a new optional terminating action for the repetitive inspections. The FAA is proposing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.

The FAA is correcting an airworthiness directive (AD) that was published in the Federal Register. That AD applies to all Airbus SAS Model A319-151N, -153N, -171N, and -173N airplanes; Model A320-251N, - 252N, -253N, -271N, -272N, and -273N airplanes; and Model A321-251N, - 252N, -253N, -271N, -272N, -251NX, -252NX, -253NX, -271NX, -272NX, - 253NY, and -271NY airplanes. As published, a reference to a European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) AD specified in the regulatory text is incorrect. This document corrects that error. In all other respects, the original document remains the same.
